Team Peugeot Hansen on home soil in Sweden

Team Peugeot Hansen on home soil in Sweden

2015-06-29

On the momentum of its winning weekend in Germany, Team Peugeot Hansen will be hunting for more success when the 2015 FIA World Rallycross Championship moves on to its home territory for Round 6 in Sweden on July 4-5. Höljes is one of the calendar’s

There will be a definite sense of intent in the air when Team Peugeot Hansen makes the 300km journey that separates the Swedish outfit from its base in Götene to Höljes. The Franco-Swedish operation is especially buoyed up by the trip since it was here that it conducted a valuable development test a month ago. This set-up work at the beginning of June certainly contributed to the triumph of Davy Jeanney and Timmy Hansen and their PEUGEOT 208 WRXs at Estering, Germany, where they came first and third to put the squad firmly back in contention for the 2015 Teams’ title chase. It is now just eight points short of the provisional leader Ford Olsberg OMSE.

Davy and Timmy both enjoy the Swedish circuit which is reputed as being a big test of drivers and their machines. The hilly course notably includes two jumps, as well as a banked turn which is unique in the series. A warm atmosphere is always guaranteed, too, by the huge numbers of connoisseur spectators, many of whom will be cheering for Team Peugeot Hansen, of course!

In addition to the Supercar contest, Peugeot Red Bull Hansen Junior Team will have a car in the RX Lites class for Kevin Hansen who currently tops the standings, level with Kevin Eriksson.

Kenneth Hansen, Team Principal
“After our success in Germany, we obviously feel very confident ahead of the trip to Höljes. The testing we did there last month enabled us to move forward, as we saw at Estering. We are hoping that our two PEUGEOT 208 WRXs will be on top form again at Höljes which is a track we know very well. But it is also highly demanding! Timmy would love to score a strong result in front of home fans, while Davy made big progress at Estering which was his first international victory. He will be more fired up than ever to shine once more. I think both our drivers are capable of playing leading roles again in Sweden to hopefully improve our position in the Teams’ standings.”

The action in Höljes will be broadcast in more than 120 countries worldwide. The semi-finals and the final will be screened live in France on L’Equipe 21 and in Sweden on Viasat.
